Auditions

The HOCC welcomes all men of good character of any race, creed or background with a desire to sing solid harmony. Any background with an emphasis on singing is helpful but not required.

Our audition process has three steps:

1. Complete a Membership Interest Form, and return via email (auditions@hoccmusic.org) or regular mail, or bring it to a rehearsal. Once that is received, our music team will schedule your first audition - auditions are private and held on rehearsal nights only.
2. Audition 1 (A1) is an evaluation of your singing range and basic skill set, including tuning, matching pitches, tempo, listening skills, etc., and takes less than 15 minutes.
3. Audition 2 (A2) is an evaluation of your harmony singing skills, learning and retention.

Sight-reading music is not a requirement for the audition or membership - we utilize pre-recorded learning tracks of our entire repertoire.

Walk-in visitors are always welcome at the HOCC, but please do not plan to audition on your first visit unless cleared with a director beforehand.
